Aurora Borealis

Experience the Northern Lights anywhere, anytime. The northern and southern lights are caused by charged particles from the sun interacting with the magnetosphere of the earth. These particles make their way down the poles on the side facing the sun but you can't see them. Due to the way they interact with the magnetosphere they also come down on the dark side of the earth which allows you to see them at night near the north and south poles. The charged particles from the sun interact with oxygen and nitrogen particles 20 to 200 miles above the surface giving off different coloured light. Excited oxygen atoms produce a green hue while excited nitrogen atoms produce a blue hue.
